This is by far my favorite album by blink-182, it used to be their self titled album from 2003 (the last one before breaking up and later getting back together in like 2008) but I just appreciate this one for its further maturity, and for being the final album before their downward spiral through the rest of the 2010's that they're only now beginning to get out of. While there is a deluxe version of this album that adds 4 tracks to it, I only ranked the original 10 on the main album. Going from best to worst first up is Heart's All Gone, which even outside of this album is one of my favorite songs, its very fast and hard and something that I don't think blink would've done during the Enema Of The State-Take Off Your Pants And Jacket era in their career. Very nice, very cool. The next track up is Wishing Well, which coincidentally is the track after Heart's All Gone in the track listing. This one took me a lot longer to get into than the other track but its almost as good, and probably my favorite Tom DeLonge track on any blink album. It's a very sincere track about the band's journey, nice stuff. My two favorite tracks on this album also happen to both be the best tracks by the respective lead singers in my opinion. My third favorite track finishes off the amazing tracks part of the ranking, its the other fast song on the album after Heart's All Gone, and has a very unique riff, it also features both lead singers on it. Kaleidoscope and After Midnight are pretty interchangeable, Kaleidoscope is catchier but After Midnight is more somber and has better lyrics and is the most popular track off the album, both are both pretty good. My only problem with Kaleidoscope though is that it has like a 30 second instrumental bit at the end that takes too long to end, but it doesn't drag it down too much. Up All Night was another single from the album and was a good choice for it. Despite taking a while for me to get into it I think it's pretty catchy and instrumentally is nice as well. Ghost on the Dance Floor is the song that my least favorite for the longest time due to the singing but I've come around to it, its a nice album opener. The last three tracks here are the weakest, Love is Dangerous is probably the moodiest track on the album and has a nice groove to it, but doesn't stick out more than that. This Is Home is just alright but doesn't have anything special going on. MH 4.18.2011 is the weakest track, its probably the most similar to early blink-182 albums in its guitar work and vocals, not to say that's a bad thing but it doesn't blend well with the rest of the album, and is just kind of forgettable. The most interesting part of the song is its title which was just the file name for the track on one of their computers. Despite the weaker tracks this album is a great listen and has some of blink-182's best songs, overall my only complaint for the album is that Mark Hoppus doesn't get as big of a role as Tom DeLonge, 4 tracks have both of them on lead vocals, but for solo vocals, DeLonge gets 4 songs and Hoppus gets 2, but its not that big of complaint. So yeah go listen!!!
